Some of Last Year's finalist videos do not adhere to this year's video Guidelines
That is correct. For a variety of reasons, including the large volume of entries we had last year, this year we have tightened up our Video Guidelines. Please ensure that your submission follows this year's posted
Guidelines. Last year's entries are there for inspirational purposes only.
What’s the “Free ELLE Canada” opt-in?
W Network, in partnership with Transcontinental Inc. (“Transcon”), is offering a bonus for the first 200 people submitting their Search Entry to receive a free 3 month subscription to ELLE Canada Magazine (“Offer”). If your Search Entry is one of the first 200 eligible Search Entries (meaning it is in compliance with the Rules and W Network’s moderators have posted it live on the Website) AND if you are the Primary Applicant and checked off the “opt-in” on the submission page to indicate that you want to be eligible, W Network will pass your name and email address to Transcon. Within 1 month of the W Experts Search closing date, Transcon will send you an email from subscription@s.transcontinentalmedia.com in relation to their Offer; at this time you may be asked to provide Transcon further personal information, such as your mailing address. Please note that only the “primary applicant” is eligible for this incentive. Eligibility in the Offer is at the sole discretion of W Network, and W Network does not make any representation or assume any liability in relation to the Offer.
If I'm chosen as a finalist, when will I find out?
We will begin contacting the Top 10 Finalists by telephone after Monday March 8th. Please refer to the
Rules & Regulations for more details. (section 2.4).
I'm an expert in a field I don't see specifically listed - should I still apply?
Yes. We have deliberately made the 6 categories as broad as possible, to increase the likelihood that all manner of expertise will apply. Please look over our category list, and pick the one that seems most appropriate.
However, if you intend to apply to more than one category, do make sure that you are applying each time showcasing a completely different skill set (for example - you're a chef, but also a makeup artist!). We will not accept multiple applications featuring the same skill from one person.
